roll 4:AMIT

Ever wondered where will u find a face that is ever-smiling and behind which is all sorts of myriad feelings and emotions that you can’t just decipher? Well, amit is THE person. I can’t recollect a moment of my meeting amit when he wasn’t smiling. And this is just no silly smile, it seems like some kind of natural facial add-on to his features!!

lakhoamit

He loves to call me ‘monkey’ for reasons that I dare not guess out here, however all I want to say is that he is still one of the most lovable characters that I’ve ever come across in life. He is an excellent team-man both in acads and beyond. I remember that right from first year itself, when he happened to be the most enthusiastic of all people as far as cricket matches were concerned, unfortunately, at times (very rarely, the ECE match being the most glaring example) he just let us down a bit, but I guarantee you, one just couldn’t get angry with him. He was just his usual smiling self. And u moved on to the next thing in life…

As far his activities in college are concerned, he is most likely to be found roaming about the college premises with any or all of the 3 beauties from up north, around kaka’s dokan, or may be around LH.he happens to be a proud resident of RBC.he lives in kharagpur, I once stayed at his place back in 2nd year while attending the springfest, and I had one of the best experiences of my life. Each member in his house was like amit only, ever smiling and as amiable as u can ever imagine. And I remember the bike ride too, vinod and myself riding pillion, and that awesome cat, which I was tempted to name as swikriti, just for its resemblance to that classmate of ours!!

Amit dear, I haven’t ever been able to gather up the courage to speak to you directly about the incident in early final year, and I didn’t want to do it here too. Honestly speaking however, I want this writing to be a kind of memento that I want my mates to keep with them after we disperse after graduation. So in that spirit, all I’ll simply say is: bhai, exercise some restraint as far as biking goes re…Can partially feel what u and ur family have been thru,nd we are alwaz there for youJ

I remember the severe test that he had to go through during the campusing process and thankfully the manna from heaven arrived in the form of Techmahindra.i heard from someone what his father had remarked after listening to his getting the job, it was just so touching, so fitting for a guy who is just so immensely emotionally strong. I think amit is one of those persons who on the first appearance seem like just another guy, but as time goes by reveal themselves as having depths matching those of the
Atlantic.

When amit gives jhappi, he means it. Here is someone, who while saying that he is happy for a friend, is actually so. I remember how he incessantly teased me on being the topper in first sem, all I will say is, amit, you can call me a whole lot more things as of now: D

God bless you in whatever that comes up in your life in the years ahead. I am sure you will shine in any field you embark upon just as your glittering smile doesJ

roll3:ALAK

Alak is someone whom I got to know from very close up way back in 1st year, however cos of circumstances that are undefinable, we drifted apart partially. Let me write something about him at the beginning itself, he is an awesome technician. I mean it; you just had to see how much he loved to work at the mechanical workshop to understand the level of expertise that I am talking about here.
He is a really simple guy, and extremely adept at managing himself. I remember how meticulously he used to arrange each and every one of his belongings in APC, the 1st year hostel. Nothing much has changed at his current room in RBC-it is almost squeaky clean.
Now about a few things between him and myself.alak and I,both of us will never ever in our life forget the magnificently proficient back hand technique of secretly exchanging our answer scripts that we developed during first sem itself.it was simply fool-proof.and it guranteed me the topper spot in the first sem too:D..now that’s something I won’t ever forget in my life!then again, avik myself, and alak had been practical partners for quite sometime, and let me tell you, just like avik, he was an asset as far as the early basic engineering practicals were concerned.(obviously if you ignore the buffoon roll2,this made an awesome group, and how can i forget those ealrly duels we had with roll 5’s group:D)and about workshop-ask anybody belonging to our department and you will get the instant reply-alak was a da vinci at work in the workshop.he finished his own job inch perfectly, then willingly volunteered to finish othr people’s jobs too!with similar results!!cheers, dude!
Let me mention a word or two about his childhood love,he once confided into,of all people,’me’,the details of how much he
loved a girl named c***a(not taking her name here, cos i still blve alak is too good a buddy),bak home, she was a real sweetheart he told me.now people who know me closely also know how attentive i can get at times when i’m in a mood to extract information form people,nd well, this was no exception:D alak just about blurted out every delicate thought that he had in his mind about her.all i’ll say is that, that was a really ‘enticing’ story alright!all the best buddy!
he is one of those guys who got influenced by the college fad,by that i mean, dressing up in a kooool style–to keep pace with the others etc..and this resulted in those wrist bands and watches, the metal crosses, the designer tee-shirts getting changed almost every week and a host of other things.and let me add here his prowess with linux and xp handling.most of the time he is liable to be found in his RBC room,b4 his pc,with earphones in his ears, and playin the latest version of age of empires,or nfs,or tweaking the xp settings,or whatever.
he loves the glass,i’m reliably informed that he is a real sponge these days.and he likes eating fish a lot;he once confided into me that he enjoys the hostel meals more than he does the home cooking!now that’s some exception among engineering students,i can tell you,not many pepole ‘enjoy’ hostel cooking.
on scrutinising him closely, you will see that he is on a constant lookout to look and act a bit on the kooooler side, but otherwise he is an awesome company,i can vouch for that, especially for that backhand technique, jio guru!that was awesome!juniors,if u want tutions in this regard, contact the author here or alak will do too;)
anyways, let me congratulate him for gettin into a Kooool company himself,NIIT,it came late, and it was so awesome to read the happiness in his eyes.
let me finish by saying that here is a guy,who will never ever do anybody any harm intentionally, and is a really trustworthy friend,God bless you mate:)

roll 1:AVIK

“you worthless boy!you aspire to be an engineer?you can’t even look after this small details in your life?”and avik’s dad continued shouting at him before everyone else beside the admission line.avik tried in vain to get mingled with the pool of tears that was collecting at the base of his feet, hoping with each moment to end the shame there itself.it didn’t; the rant just went on and on…and our big lousy avik just turned even redder!it had so happened that avik had forgotten to bring some documents which were necessary for admission from home to college, and the tirade followed!
So that was the first glimpse of avik on admission day. from then on, he portrayed a picture which unconsciously reminded us of a person we all know-inzamam!yup,avik is lazy elegance personified.just look at his gait, the way he talks, never ruffled, never looking troubled, just calmly accepting the thing at hand and trying to the best thing under the circumstances, which more often than not turns out to be the right thing.ask me more about that,I am witness of his prowess during the semesters,he sits beside me mostly, and man!i can vouch for his effectiveness during semesters,he surprises you with the depth of his fundas:)
I remember in first year how much of a devoted card player he was in APC.Now he is a proud resident of VC,the hostel that we all kgec-ians all know about. All its residents are legendary in their own rights, but with a common element, always unwilling to come to college.their logic is simple-the college just doesn’t live up to the high standards set inside their unique hostel. As we go on, we will explore some common traits among all VC residents. They are essentially lazy, exceptionally talented, love to sleep for long hours and are deeply in love with Lord Bacchus!
Even after four years there has been no scandal being spread about avik about his connections with anyone of the opposite gender, and I really found it amusing when his dad used to ring me up during the pre-mobile daz, inquiring about avik’s class performance etc:DI guess his parents were of the opinion that I was an ideal student in college:Dhow true!!
He has recently delved into the depths of java owing to the impetus provided by his future company-HCL,and I want to thank HCL from the bottom of my heart, cos had this not been so, I would have found it difficult to pass the 7th sem,but for avik’s immense java talent:D
The little occasions that we find him at the college premises, he is prone to spend them at kaka’s shop, having tea or the occasional smoke.
Let me conclude by lauding him for his immense powers of application. I know it for a fact cos I was his lab partner for most parts of the first 4 sems, and he was an asset to my group alright.and I want to thank him for almost alwaz gifting me free marks whenever the 2 of us went for a viva together, nearly always he goofed up his easy answer and allowed me to answer;Dthanks mate!
All I can say of him is that he is a very lovely company, nobody will get repelled by him for sure, and his lazy nature is really addictive…a song that I guess typifies avik and his attitude is,”sochna kya, jo bhi hoga dekha jayega!”

Hello world!

Hi there!

This blog isn’t about my ramblings about the happenings or rather the absence of happenings in my life. The subject is a bit local in context while it is global in terms of the repeatability that it finds in the lives of every person at some point or the other.

My plot is simple: describing my college class mates down to the minutest details and create a bit of a series out there. Hope I am able to do justice to the task. I don’t claim that I will be able to do a brilliant job of trying to portray a perfect picture of my classmates. But they are classmates alright, my beloved mates,so I guess I can proudly claim that I know a bit or more about them. And yup! There will be a few who aren’t quite in my department but make it to the list simply on account of the huge amount of space that they command in my mind. so without further adieu, ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the very first personality….
